2008 . Naches Loop (Mt Rainier area)
There is a pretty popular trail near Mt Rainier called Naches Loop. It is a pretty easy hike, 4.5 miles, and most of which is pretty easy going. For these reasons, it can also get pretty crowded, so if you plan on seeing any wildlife, go as early as possible! There's also a chance to hike down to a lake once on the far side- a bit more difficult but it is also pretty nice down there. It was a beautiful and hot September day, and I managed to forget my tripod mount, damn!
Pretty early on the hike, lots of lupin around. Being a loop trail, there are two ways to start, I think we took the better one :)
All trails lead to Dad reading his GPS.
Great views on the far side, with Dewey Lakes below. Another half mile will get you there, three more miles to Anderson Lake.
Paydirt. Mount Ranier stands at 14,411 feet. Great views all around up here.
